The St Mary Churchyard project is coming to an end. And a day of celebration is planned. The people that live and died in Brixham from 1850-1950 have been tracked and family histories uncovered. With over 9000 names on the database – all derived from the research on the gravestones –  the families that made Brixham’s history are no longer unknown or their resting places forgotten. At the afternoon launch the scale model of the church and churchyard will be unveiled, and an exhibition of the results of the project will be opened. The celebration kicks off at 2.30.

In the evening at 7pm there will be a concert with music and readings from memoirs of the Brixhamites 1850-1950. Tickets are £5 on the door and a glass of wine/juice is included with your ticket.
