SUMMARY:Celebrate the end of the Graveyard Project
DESCRIPTION:The St Mary’s Graveyard Project is finished. Come to celebrate the astounding achievement of over 60 volunteers over 2 years. In mapping the graves of St Mary’s over 15\,000 names of people and family connections have been tracked  across Brixham. The church records were burned in the bombing of Exeter\, and the project sought to rediscover the history that was lost. It has created a lasting legacy for Brixham and answers so many questions about those who lived and died in Brixham in the past two centuries. \nAll members are invited to come to the Rugby Club  and celebrate  – finger buffet and entertainment during the evening. Entry free.

SUMMARY:D-Day Exhibition Launch
DESCRIPTION:Pop into the Library this Saturday (1st) at 11 am for the official launch of the library exhibition relating to D-Day and Brixham’s week of commemoration. Cllr. Jill Regan\, Chair of Brixham Town Council has kindly agreed to come along and say a few words. The launch will just be a simple 15 minute ceremony to kick off the town’s activities. Brixham played a major part in D-Day as the gathering and launch point for the South West armada\, and there are many who remember the morning they woke up to a harbour filled with all the boats that had been hidden among the estuaries and inlets of Devon and Cornwall.
